Research Experiences for Undergraduates

Engage in sustainable materials research — which could be used in future technologies.

The UCSC Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) summer program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity of engage in research in physics, chemistry, and engineering related to the discovery and study of materials that can be used in future sustainable technologies, such as low-power electronic devices, renewable energy sources, and biomimetic devices.

The program is especially designed for students from community colleges and other non-Ph.D. granting institutions of higher learning who may be thinking of pursuing a post-graduate degree in the sciences or engineering. Underrepresented minorities in science and engineering are encouraged to apply.
